Street poet Gil Scott-Heron joins the United Souls collection

We are proud to present our latest creation in tribute to the legendary Gil Scott-Heron , created in collaboration with the French-Cameroonian artist Fred Ebami , also known as Ebami Warhol.

Fred Ebami embraces the digital world and brings an avant-garde, new, and refreshing side to conventional pop art.

A guest artist on several occasions in Toulouse, the brand's hometown, Fred Ebami has already made an impression with his exhibition at the unmissable street art event, Mister Freeze, in 2022.
That same year, we had the pleasure of meeting him and introducing him to the Rio Loco Festival team for a potential collaboration.

And guess what? This long-awaited collaboration is now a reality!

Today, Fred Ebami returns to the Pink City as the poster designer for the 28th edition of the Rio Loco World Cultures Festival.

Gil Scott-Heron, who died on May 27, 2011, was much more than just an artist. He was an American poet, musician, and writer whose powerful voice and powerful lyrics shaped the history of urban poetry and the political movement of the 1970s. His artistic legacy is immense, and his cultural impact continues to this day.

This collaboration between United Souls and Fred Ebami is our way of celebrating Gil Scott-Heron's invaluable contribution to art and the fight for social justice. His committed poetry continues to inspire new generations of artists and activists!
