A militant of the Sudanese Union – African Democratic Rally (US-RDA), she became the first woman elected as a deputy in her country in 1959. Her journey links the struggle for independence to that of women's emancipation. In her autobiography \u003cem\u003eFemme d’Afrique\u003c\/em\u003e, published in 1975, she recounts this experience. Having died in Bamako in 1980, she leaves behind a legacy of determination and collective commitment.
