AHMAD SHAH MASSOUD (1953-2001) - AFGHANISTAN

Ahmad Shah Massoud was an Afghan military commander and politician. Known as the "Lion of Panjshir," he played a major role in the resistance against the Soviet occupation and later in the fight against the Taliban. His life is inseparable from the contemporary history of Afghanistan and the struggles for its future. He also alerted the international community to the dangers of religious terrorism. Assassinated in 2001, he remains a figurehead of Afghan resistance. Through this creation by Joy Hanoun, United Souls pays tribute to his memory and invites you to discover the history behind the name.
