This Aoua Keïta women's ribbed-collar t-shirt features a design by Afi Kodjobi Tchoukpa in its version for dark backgrounds. The Aoua Keïta name and United Souls logo appear in white, creating a contrast with the chosen color. The drawing remains the same as on the light version: only the lettering changes. Its straight cut and ring-spun combed organic cotton make it a piece to pair with jeans or wear under a jacket, in tribute to a woman who linked independence and emancipation.

A PIONEER OF AFRICAN WOMEN'S EMANCIPATION

AOUA KEÏTA (1912-1980) - MALI

Born in Bamako in 1912, Aoua Keïta was a midwife, trade unionist, and anti-colonial activist. Through her work and political commitment, she mobilized women and defended their place in public life. A militant of the Sudanese Union – African Democratic Rally (US-RDA), she became the first woman elected as a member of parliament in her country in 1959. Her career connects the fight for independence with the struggle for women's emancipation. In her autobiography, Femme d’Afrique (Woman of Africa), published in 1975, she recounts this experience. Having died in Bamako in 1980, she leaves behind a legacy of determination and collective engagement. Through this design by Afi Kodjobi Tchoukpa, United Souls pays tribute to her memory.
