Illustrator and art director Olivier Bonhomme lives and works in Montpellier. Since 2012, he has collaborated with Le Monde and the Washington Post. At the same time, he co-founded Studio BK in Lyon, with which he explores the role of images on stage and in space, in all their forms.

After a stint in comic books, he dedicated himself to illustration and his own personal series. He develops a surrealist universe where pop iconography meets symbolism. From graphic storytelling to mural and digital experiments, his work evolves while maintaining two guiding threads: clear line and the play of colors.

In his collaboration with United Souls, his creation dedicated to Cheikh Anta Diop pays tribute to the Senegalese historian and his commitment to knowledge and the emancipation of Africa. CHEIKH ANTA DIOP (1923-1986) - SENEGAL

A Senegalese historian, anthropologist, Egyptologist, and politician, Cheikh Anta Diop devoted his research to the history of Africa and its place in world civilization. In Nations nègres et culture, published in 1954, he defended the African origins of Egyptian civilization and challenged racist interpretations of the past. His approach encourages Africans to produce their own historical and scientific research. A committed Pan-Africanist, he also worked on the cultural unity of Africa and was an activist in Senegalese political life. Having passed away in 1986, he left behind a body of work that continues to fuel debates on history, knowledge, and emancipation. Through this creation by Olivier Bonhomme, United Souls pays tribute to his journey.
