Bring the energy of the seventies into your everyday life. On this essential unisex t-shirt, Fred Ebami’s colorful design pays tribute to Gil Scott-Heron, a poet and musician whose engaged voice continues to resonate.

From white to sand, pale pink to light blue, and not forgetting yellow and gray, this variation offers a light, pastel, and luminous palette. Its regular fit and 170 g/m² cotton make for a piece that is easy to pair with jeans or a jacket, allowing you to wear art every day.

A creation by artist Fred Ebami

A Franco-Cameroonian pop artist, Fred Ebami creates from photographs and drawings that he reworks on the computer. In his artistic practice, he combines digital creation with interventions using Posca markers, spray paint, or acrylics, weaving a unique link between the organic and the digital. Passionate about posters and lithographs, he plays with slogans and bright colors to catch the eye and convey a message. His drawing of Gil Scott-Heron creates a dialogue between this pop energy and the engaged voice of the poet and musician.

In 2018, the South African magazine Tropics named him one of the most influential African artists.

THE MILITANT PEN OF URBAN POETRY

GIL SCOTT-HERON (1949-2011) - UNITED STATES

An American poet, musician, and writer, Gil Scott-Heron blended jazz, soul, funk, and spoken word. In the 1970s, his voice and lyrics denounced racism, poverty, and social injustice. Works such as The Revolution Will Not Be Televised and Winter in America embody this engaged voice. Considered one of the precursors of hip-hop, he leaves behind a body of work where poetry becomes a tool for consciousness and emancipation.
