Wearing an image, opening one’s perspective. This unisex t-shirt pays tribute to James Baldwin through a design by Camille Laforcenée, accompanied by a quote chosen by United Souls: "I have to make conscious of the things you don't see." The combination of drawing and words invites us to become aware of what escapes our gaze, in the spirit of the artist's role.

Available in light, pastel tones, this design accompanies your daily life with a 100% organic cotton t-shirt, featuring a regular fit and a weight of 180 g/m². From white to lavender, heather gray to pink or sand, it is a piece to be worn with jeans or under a jacket, adding meaning to your look.

A design by Camille Laforcenée

An architect by training, Camille Laforcenée chose to dedicate herself to her art. As a draftswoman, printmaker, and screen printer, she seeks to create textures, depth, and meaning, while maintaining a technical rigor that fuels her process. Her practice combines drawing, fanzines, and prints, ranging from screen printing to copperplate etching, tetra-pak printing, and linocut.

She taught traditional screen printing for three years at the 54fils studio in Toulouse. Her drawings have illustrated covers for BLAST editions, which published her self-portrait work in Telle Quelle in October 2022. A member of the Atelier de la Main Gauche since 2021, she has been teaching there in weekly workshops since 2023.

I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO

JAMES BALDWIN (1924-1987) - USA

An American writer and essayist, James Baldwin explored racism, identity, love, and the tensions within American society. Having moved to France in 1948, he returned to the United States to commit himself to the civil rights movement. Through his books and public speaking, he urged us to face injustices head-on and to question the narratives that shape our lives. Raoul Peck’s documentary I Am Not Your Negro extends the reach of his thought.
