A voice to keep close to you. This essential United Souls t-shirt embraces Mahmoud Darwish in a poetic creation by Marie-Claire Laffaire: the poet appears in a window to the universe, with a celestial vault behind him. The quote "We shall be a people, if we so wish" accompanies the design, turning the garment into a space for speech and memory.

Available in black, navy blue, burgundy, purple, dark chocolate, dark heather gray, or military green, its regular fit and 170 g/m² cotton make for a base to pair with jeans or dress pants. An artist's t-shirt to assert your convictions with elegance, and let poetry retain its evocative power. At United Souls, style has meaning.

A creation by Marie-Claire Laffaire

The portrait and this opening to the sky invite us to read Darwish beyond a frozen image: a presence, a voice, a possibility of a future. The quote accompanying the design becomes a guiding thread, a way of connecting memory to the will to forge a people. Wearing this creation means making room for Palestinian poetry in everyday life.

A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, Marie-Claire Laffaire grew up in Corrèze and trained at the Académie Jacques-Gabriel Chevalier in Brive, then in spatial design in Toulouse. After fifteen years dedicated to architectural illustration, alongside creating posters, she has focused since late 2019 on artistic research that questions memory through drawing. This background gives a special resonance to this window to the universe: a space to welcome a face and what it conveys.

THE VOICE OF RESISTANCE AND PEACE

MAHMOUD DARWISH (1941-2008) - PALESTINE

A Palestinian poet born in Al-Birwa in 1941, Mahmoud Darwish turned poetry into a place where the personal and collective history meet. Marked by exile, his work explores land, memory, identity, and the desire to live. His texts carry the Palestinian experience while opening a universal conversation on belonging and dignity. He died in 2008, leaving behind a voice whose strength lies as much in commitment as in the place given to love, beauty, and hope.
