The Arabic inscription features her nickname, "Star of the Orient," and accompanies the portrait of a figure with a unique radiance.

This drawing also celebrates a voice that brings people together. Emblematic of the Arab world, Umm Kulthum’s music resonates beyond the borders of the Maghreb and the Middle East, beyond languages and affiliations. When she sings, her voice becomes a meeting place, a shared emotion.

On this faded organic cotton worker jacket, the portrait is printed on the back using DTF transfer. Its fitted cut can be worn over a t-shirt, with jeans or dress trousers: from the front, an everyday jacket; from the back, a tribute to the elegance and unifying strength of the Star of the Orient.

THE VOICE OF ARAB UNITY AND IDENTITY

UMM KULTHUM (approx. 1902-1975) - EGYPT

Umm Kulthum, nicknamed the "Star of the Orient," the "Diva," the "Singer of the People," the "Nightingale of the Nile," and even the "Fourth Pyramid," is one of the greatest singers in the Arab world. Beginning her career in 1922, she recorded hundreds of songs accompanied by a traditional orchestra that continued to grow. Through her art, she was able to unite Arabs beyond their divisions and is, in this respect, considered the voice of Arab identity and unity. Involved in the evolution of Egyptian society and the Arab nation, Umm Kulthum sang of the revolution and the withdrawal of British forces from Egyptian territory, and, with the rise of Nasser, became the embodiment of Pan-Arabism. In 1960, her song "Wallah Zaman Ya Silahi" became the national anthem of the United Arab Republic.
