A confident look, a history to share. On this women's ribbed-collar t-shirt, Lumumba Pop Art brings together the creative work of Fred Ebami and the memory of Patrice Lumumba. An artistic, activist, and elegant t-shirt that gives your outfit a presence that goes beyond mere appearance.
Its straight cut and 180 g/m² ring-spun combed organic cotton can be worn with jeans, a skirt, or dress trousers. In black, navy blue, or Green Bay green, this model provides a foundation for bringing engaged art into everyday life. At United Souls, style has meaning.
A creation by Fred Ebami
Franco-Cameroonian artist Fred Ebami brings us a colorful and committed Pop Art portrait. Initiated on the occasion of the return of Patrice Lumumba’s remains to the Congo, this creation carries an intent of reappropriation: to symbolically return to Lumumba the colors and emblems of his country that imperialism had confiscated from him. The Congolese colors and the symbolism of the leopard reaffirm his belonging to his country.
Permanently integrated into the United Souls collection, Lumumba Pop Art is a design distinct from the pencil portrait by Marie-Claire Laffaire used for Lumumba Classic and Lumumba Color, rather than a simple colorization of it. A different artistic expression, to convey the same memory of resistance and sovereignty.

THE MARTYR OF INDEPENDENCE
PATRICE EMERY LUMUMBA (1925-1961) - DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO
A major figure in Congolese independence, Patrice Lumumba became Prime Minister in 1960. His speech on June 30th denounced the violence and humiliations of Belgian colonialism. In a country beset by crisis and foreign interference, he defended the sovereignty of the Congo and a pan-African vision of emancipation. Arrested and then assassinated in January 1961 alongside Maurice Mpolo and Joseph Okito, he remains a figure of memory and resistance, a symbol of an independence that must be defended beyond its proclamation. In June 2022, Belgium returned one of Lumumba's teeth to the Congo.
