An essential for wearing pride and dignity. In this realistic drawing, Marie-Claire Laffaire portrays a radiant Rosa Parks. Her portrait evokes a quiet pride, that of a major figure of the civil rights movement whose determination helped push back racial segregation.

This resplendent face hints at a sense of victory over an order that imposed inequality. The artist presents Rosa Parks beyond her single act of refusal: a woman whose presence embodies strength and hope. A tribute to the victories won, which keeps the demand for equality alive.

This 100% cotton essential unisex Rosa Parks artist t-shirt complements your daily outfits with its classic fit. Worn with jeans or under an open jacket, it gives full prominence to the portrait and the history it conveys.

THE MOTHER OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT

ROSA PARKS (1913-2005) - UNITED STATES

Born in 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama, Rosa Parks was an African-American seamstress. Together with her husband, she campaigned for the registration of Black voters and, after experiencing a first racist incident on a bus, she joined the local branch of the NAACP, the civil rights organization. Elected secretary, she documented racist incidents and mobilized specifically on the 1944 gang rape case of Recy Taylor. Eleven years later, on December 1, 1955, her arrest following her refusal to give up her seat to a white man on a Montgomery bus triggered the 381-day boycott of the city's public transport. As the catalyst for Martin Luther King's first successful mass action, Rosa Parks continued her activism in Detroit, where she passed away on October 24, 2005.
