A face etched into bark, a thought drawn with fidelity. Afi Kodjobi Tchoukpa pays tribute to Wangari Maathai through a drawing that evokes her portrait carved into tree bark: her image symbolically blends with the material she dedicated her life to protecting.
Sensitive to her wish that no more trees be cut down to build her coffin, the artist translates this fidelity to her convictions into the drawing. The bark becomes the language of this tribute, a bond between Wangari and the trees she defended.
On this hoodie, the portrait of "Mama Miti," the mother of trees, accompanies your daily life. The softness of organic cotton and the side pockets give this creation a place on cool days, between comfort and the memory of a commitment to the living world.

THE AFRO-FEMINIST AND ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVIST
WANGARI MUTA MAATHAI (1940-2011) - KENYA
Wangari Muta Maathai, a Kenyan environmental and women's rights activist, made tree protection a lever for social transformation. Nicknamed Mama Miti, "the mother of trees," she founded the Green Belt Movement, combining reforestation, women's participation, and the improvement of living conditions.
In 2004, she became the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Her journey links environmental preservation to democracy, social justice, and peace.
Her legacy invites us to act for the living, to defend freedoms, and to build a more equitable future. Afi Kodjobi Tchoukpa's drawing extends this memory by uniting her face with the bark of a tree.
