United Souls pays tribute to Marielle Franco, a 38-year-old congresswoman who was assassinated on March 14, 2018, in the heart of downtown Rio. A charismatic Black woman and LGBT activist, Marielle Franco was a rising figure in Brazilian politics, committed to fighting racism and police violence.

In the wake of her death, hundreds of thousands of people across the world expressed their outrage. Following the election of Jair Bolsonaro, Marielle's fight continues... United Souls is part of the duty to remember and pays tribute to her through illustrations by artist Amandine Szczepaniak.
